Southgate Community Nature Preserve - June 9th

Students
from the Stream Team will continue their third year off
a five year commitment to the Southgate Community Nature
Preserve. This event will encompass trail construction,
stream clean-up, tree planting, trail construction and park
bench placement. Quite an busy day. |
Downriver Benthic Monitoring w/ Wayne County - Fall
|
|
|
Students
from schools throughout Downriver will continue their work
dealing with Benthic Monitoring Downriver. This program
is intended to help local communities meet with the Federal
requirements dealing with the Clean Water Act Stormwater
permits. Previous schools will continue their sampling at
their prior locations while new schools will select their
own.

Fall Clean-up/Restoration project - Oct 5th

For
the Fall of 2010, we will continue the project which the
Stream Teams have pledged to continue, the restoration and
construction of the Southgate Nature Center. We will complete
our boulevard of trees, continue trail construction and
help with the management of the woody debris in the Frank
& Poet Creek which runs through the center. |
